The City of Papillion Police Department has a long-standing positive relationship with schools in the City of Papillion. As part of that relationship, the department applied for a federal grant in 1997 to enhance our relationship with elementary schools in our jurisdiction. Through a competitive Innovate Local Law Enforcement Community Policing grant process, our department was awarded a grant. The proceeds funded and initiated the Juvenile Awareness Program in all elementary schools in Papillion. The grant expired in 2000, however the department continues this invaluable program which pairs road patrol officers with a specific school, students, staff, administration and parents to promote a positive and proactive problem solving partnership.
